For those of you that are familiar with Oracle’s offering around Content Management, you probably know the WebCenter family. Sites Cloud Service is a new brand product, built from the scratch and designed to run in the Cloud. It’s not a replacement of WebCenter, it’s a complement.
The product is targeted for business users and content contributors, so everything has been designed to allow them to be independent from IT departments. The UI and all the actions that a contributor can perform are pretty intuitive, without requiring extensive training or ad-hoc learning.
Sites Cloud Service provides OOTB Templates and Components to speed up the time to market and also offers the required tools for developers to build custom templates to fit specific design requirements. In this blog I will try to provide examples about how to create Templates and Components that are frequently needed by custom designs.
